HDPE Geomembrane tailings ponds are widely used. Choosing suitable anti-seepage materials in the tailings pond can improve the compactness of the dam body, which can effectively prevent the disasters of the tailings pond. As a new type of anti-seepage geosynthetic material, HDPE composite geomembrane is due to its tensile strength. The advantages of high strength, good anti-seepage performance, strong deformability, light weight, convenient construction, and low cost have been widely used in the whole and part of the dam building (structure) in the reservoir area.
In cold climates, the construction of HDPE geomembrane tailings ponds is a major problem. During the construction process, the soil material of the protective layer shall be tamped to ensure that the dry bulk density is above 1.5, and samples shall be taken for testing at any time. When the backfill protection layer and the block stone are covered together, they must be handled gently to avoid cracking of the geomembrane.
